Random Thoughts From...

McKenzie is enlightening us yet again today. Did you know that, in the Caribbean, there are oysters that can climb trees? I didn't.

Today, another enthralling fact from Erin. Did you know that Erin has no more undergraduate classes ever, ever??? I Did. Congratulations Erin!!!!!

Pack Your Hats and Head Home

Matt Giraud got the golden ticket back to Kalamazoo last night on American Idol. He was in the bottom 3 with Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. How the hell did that happen? Next week is Rock week on Idol, thank God we won't have to hear Matt take on Ozzy.

R.I.P

Legendary Country Artist Vern Gosdin, known as "The Voice," has passed away at age 70. He was most famous for his 1989 hit, Chiseled in Stone, which one the CMA song of the year. Read the complete story here.

American Idol: Top Five

Last night the Top 5 took the stage to sing the standards of the "Rat Pack." Why the hell Jamie Foxx was the mentor, I'll never know. But, on to what I think and who I think should get on a plane back to wherever they came from, starting with Matt Girad. How the hell is he still on this show? For starters, he looked like a homeless person last night, not Justin Timberlake (like he wants to be). Secondly, I'm tired of his nasally singing and his terrible falsetto. Get over yourself man. Seriously dude, you're going home tonight.

But, I'm a little afraid that Allison Iraheta may wind up going home. She's been in the bottom 3 several times when she did not deserve to be. And, while she's not one of my favorites, she still needs to stay longer than Matt. I'm still going with my pics of Adam and Kris in the finals!

Random Thoughts From....

Today, Mckenzie has enlightened up with yet another interesting and enthralling fact. Did you know that in Cleveland Ohio, it's illegal to catch mice without a hunting license? I didn't. That explains a lot about Ohio.

Here's a random thought from Erin. Did you know that in 2008, more people in the USA filed for bankruptcy than graduated from college? I didn't. Way to go USA!!!

The Oak Ridge Boys Rock Like Jack White

by Nashville Tennessean staff writers Dave Paulson and Cindy Watts
Apr 27, 2009
The Oak Ridge Boys' upcoming album, The Boys Are Back, features songs written by Shooter Jennings and Jamey Johnson, but there's another, unlikely name that factors into the album's track list: rock duo The White Stripes.

Today, another random thought from McKenzie. Did you know that in the average person's lifetime, they will shed 40 pounds of dead skin? I didn't. So much for dieting.

CBS Tribute to Bea Arthur

Surviving Golden Girls Remark on Bea Arthur's Passing

As was reported Saturday, Bea Arthur passed away at the age of 86 following a battle with cancer. Fellow Golden Girls, Betty White and Rue McClanahan both have commented on the passing of their friend.

Rue McClanahan: I learned from her," said McClanahan, who worked with Arthur on "Maude" and "The Golden Girls." "I learned not comedy timing. I already knew that. We already had that together. I learned courage. I learned how to go out on a limb. Really go out on a limb. Go as far as you dared, and a little bit farther." White told Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen she would remember the times when Arthur would sometimes stop production of "The Golden Girls" with her laughing. "Every once in awhile, something would tickle Bea, and she'd get the giggles," White said. " ... In rehearsal, we'd get to that point, and she was gone. And it made it great fun." McClanahan added that she'll miss talking on the phone with Arthur. "I think I'll miss that voice."
Betty White: I knew it would hurt, I just didn't know it would hurt this much. I'm so happy that she received her Lifetime Achievement Award while she was still with us, so she could appreciate that. She was such a big part of my life."

R.I.P

Legendary actress Bea Arthur has passed away at the age of 86. She had been battling cancer. Arthur was most famous for her portrayal of Dorothy Zbornak on NBC's The Golden Girls and Maude Findlay on the series Maude. She will definitely be missed.

Only two of the principal cast of The Golden Girls survive, Betty White (Rose Nylund) and Rue McClanahan (Blanche Deveraux). Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo) passed away in 2008.

Susan Boyle

The woman is incredible. And now she's gotten a makeover, you know it was only a matter of time before someone told her to do something with those eyebrows. But all that aside, she has a voice that will knock you off your feet! See for yourself.

OK

What the hell???

Hell freezes over and in related news, The Oak Ridge Boys cover The White Stripes

Sometimes a new blog post just drops into your lap, like a gift from rock and roll heaven, hurled downward by Rock and Roll Jesus his self.
Such is the case with today’s post. I’m sitting here, and an email pops into my box that says “New Release from Oak Ridge Boys - Seven Nation Army.”
No way. Read the rest here

Where I Work and THE WEEKEND

This is where I work and here is a link their homepage. Some of the people you've seen me post about work here with me; Anna, Alyse, McKenzie, Lauren, they all work here too. Not bad all in all considering what I could be doing. I WON'T be working here this weekend, as, i'm off till Tuesday. It's gonna be nice!

Good Morning

Lauren brought me breakfast this morning (since Stefanie is off). Thank GOD it's Friday!

Really

Do some people look in the mirror before they leave their house? They couldn't or else they would never walk out the door. Work with the public for just one hour, you'll know what I'm talking about.

More Hullabalu over Miss California

With all the diatribes and tyrates flying around about Miss California's denoucement of gay marriage, I think we should find out what our good friends Jackie and Dunlap have to say about it! And you can do just that here.

But folks, our good friends Jackie and Dunlap have been way ahead of the curve for a long time on the whole gay marriage thing, as evidenced here.

Lunch

So today, we all had Sonny's Real Pit Bar-b-q for lunch. It would have been great if they hadn't forgotten my baked beans. Seriously, that pisses me off to no extent. I mean, the grand total of our bill was nearly 50 bucks and, they forget my side of baked beans. Not good. So, on that note, I'm going to smoke! When I get pissed, I smoke.

Random Thoughts From....

Today, another random thought/fact from Mckenzie! Did you know that Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, had a deaf wife and a deaf mother? I didn't.

Thanks To Alyse....

I now know that you can get lice in your eyebrows and eyelashes. Thanks for that, Alyse, I'll keep the RID handy.

Press for "Seven Nation Army"

OK, the Oak Ridge Boys' cover of The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" is garnering quite a bit of press. The Tennessean ran this this morning. Pretty cool!

Archie's Back

David Archuleta made a return to the American Idol stage last night for a performance of the new single "Touch My Hand." You can watch the official music video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qKfEUV6faM

DOLLY!!!

Who doesn't love Dolly Parton? Here's a link to her new video, watch it!

See ya Annop and Lil

As was expected, Annop Desai and Lil Rounds went home last night on AI. Matt Giraud miracuously kept his Justin Timberlake wannabe butt out of the bottom 3 last night, so he's safe for another week.

The Oak Ridge Boys: The Boys Are Back

As everyone knows, my favorite singers are The Oak Ridge Boys. They have a new Gospel DVD Out which you can see a clip from here:

And, their new cd THE BOYS ARE BACK is due out May 19th. You can sample a track from the CD here:

Joke

From McKenzie: What's brown and sticky? A stick. HAHAHAHA

Twittering

So, I've started using Twitter. Follow me if you wish: kyerichall

Miss California

OK, this whole thing has me baffled. Are people pissed because she doesn't want gays to marry or because she sounded, how can i say this nicely, less than intelligent? What do you guys think?

American Idol: Disco Night

Despite it's being Disco Night, the show was actually fairly tolerable. The clear winners of the night were Adam Lambert and Kris Allen (per usual). Losers; time for Matt Giraud, Lil Rounds, and Annop Desai to get their bags packed. If I were a gambling man, and I am, I would say Matt and Lil are heading to the house. It's about time for two of them, one I wish would stick around a little longer.
